Transoceana was formed in the fall of 2010 with the original line up of Matt Howard ( Bass) Judd Disalvo ( Drums) and Danny Moriarty ( Guitar and vocals). Transocena has always maintained the idea of being a heavy guitar based band and with classic influences from Led Zeppelin to Mark Knopfler. The band has grown over the years though with influences that now range from U2 to Girls to even dream pop sounds such as Memoryhouse and other progressive bands. Transoceana was signed to TPG records in the fall of 2011 and released their debut album Nov 2012. Since that release Transoceana has been regularly playing shows in the Santa Cruz area with plans of touring out of Santa Cruz and hopefully out of state. Transoceana is also always writing new material, playing shows, and is getting ready to release new recordings soon
